Fenben Lab fenbendazol is the only legitimate 99%-100% pure pharmaceutical grade fenbendazole powder on the market. It is sold at a fraction of the cost of other brands which claim to be 99.9% pure but upon legitimate third party lab testing they are not.
The anthelmintic action of fenbendazole is related to its binding to the b-tubulin proteins of parasite cells. This inhibits the polymerization of these proteins into microtubules, which provide structure and shape to the cell. Microtubules are also involved in the protein synthesis and other metabolic processes, which are interrupted by fenbendazole. This binding and subsequent disruption of the normal biologic functions of nematodes results in their death (Martin 1997).
The effect of fenbendazole was investigated on human lymphoma xenografts implanted into C.B-17/Icr-Prkdcscid/Crl (SCID) mice and treated with either fenbendazole or a control diet. Tumor growth was determined in a colony formation assay after 2, 24 and 30 d of treatment. Treatment with fenbendazole was found to significantly inhibit tumor growth in this model. However, treatment with a high dose of fenbendazole did not affect the growth of unirradiated tumors.
In the laboratory, fenbendazole is highly effective against pinworms (Apiculuris tetraptera), whipworms (Trichuris suis) and hookworms (Necator americanus). It is also an excellent anthelmintic in dogs. It also has been shown to have anti-cancer effects, notably in leukemia cells (Paradiso et al. 2008). It is not absorbed well by cats but is effective against gastrointestinal and intestinal worms in this species.
